Heartfelt Birth Services
Elisabeth Salzwedel
holistic birth doula & placenta encapsulation
east central and central Minnesota
About...
My doula practice is founded on the belief that childbirth is a deeply meaningful process designed by God and that it can be a really beautiful, transformational, and positive experience. Clients tell me they appreciate my calm and confident presence, encouragement, extensive knowledge, and skills in advocacy. I view my support for mothers and families as more of a calling than a job.
You are the expert on your own body and I will always listen to your intuition! I'm also passionate about graciously supporting dads in being as involved with the birth process as they would like to be. I have experience supporting unmedicated births in and out of the hospital, births with epidural and other medications, c-sections, and much more. As a bereaved mother myself, I have training and a special interest in supporting miscarriage, stillbirth, and child loss.
I offer placenta encapsulation services at a discount for birth clients and as a standalone service.
I am in network with Medical Assistance/Minnesota Care for 100% of the cost of doula services and also accept cash, card, check, and HSA funds. I am happy to work with you submitting for reimbursement from your private insurance company when you have doula services coverage.
At this time, I am primarily focusing my practice on rural Minnesota, including Kanabec, Pine, Isanti, Mille Lacs, Carlton, Aitkin, Morrison, and Benton counties, and the greater St. Cloud area.
Please visit my website for more information or to schedule a free consultation! I'd love to answer all of your questions and discuss what doula care looks like. I look forward to talking with you!
Testimonials...
"Hiring Elisabeth as our doula...was the absolute best decision we made. She is calm, comforting, non-judgmental and very knowledgeable. She instinctively knew when and how to offer support to both me and my husband during labor and she is excellent at "reading the room". My husband and I both agree that Elisabeth was the most important factor in being able to have a labor and delivery in the hospital without medical or pain interventions. We highly recommend her!"

"Elisabeth...went above and beyond to provide comfort, calm, and encouragement. She was an invaluable resource when it came to making informed decisions at the hospital. I would choose Elisabeth again as my doula and encourage anyone else to do so too!"
---Andrea
"Elisabeth is incredibly knowledgeable, intuitive, and supportive. She was such a calming influence throughout my pregnancy, I don’t know what I would have done without her gentle support, guidance, and direction. I highly recommend her for anyone searching for a doula."
---Abby
"Elisabeth was everything my husband and I needed with our last baby. She was incredibly uplifting and never even gave me an opportunity to think “I cannot do this” because she didn’t let me forget that she believed in me, which in turn helped me believe in myself even more.
My birth goals were met and I credit a lot of this to her being the presence that was needed and remaining calm during a scary situation. I wish I had found her sooner. "

"Elisabeth is a phenomenal doula! She is kind, caring, knowledgeable, personable. She went out of her way to love and support my family with her services. It felt like she genuinely wanted to be there for us and her gentle pose was encouraging the whole time...I would highly recommend her as a doula!
