About...

As the mother to seven children on earth and one in eternity, I have a passion for helping women experience their feminine genius through the beautiful, divinely designed rite of birth.

Doula services include a free consultation, 2 prenatal meetings, text and email support throughout pregnancy, in-person labor and birth support, and 1 postpartum follow-up meeting. Bereavement doula services for miscarriage and stillbirth also available.

My experience includes attending births at all of the greater Buffalo area hospitals, Strong Memorial, UMMC Batavia, as well as Coit House, other birth centers, and home, both assisted and unassisted. I am well acquainted with the local birth options, various protocols, and outcomes. I have experience in natural birth, medicated birth, unassisted birth, water birth, VBAC, cesarean birth, induction, and complete physiological birth as well as miscarriage and stillbirth. Some of my training includes LifeCycles Center certification, Spinning Babies training, and I am certified in Neonatal Resuscitation.

I was blessed to have had six of my babies at home and two in the hospital, one a vaginal breech. I became certified as a birth doula in 2011 and have been serving in the birth space since. In 2018 I expanded my birth work and published the book Made for This: The Catholic Mom's Guide to Birth. I love bringing the richness and beauty of the Catholic Faith into the experience of birth and motherhood and it infuses everything I do. However, I have served women of many backgrounds and faiths.

I believe that every single woman and baby deserve to have the best possible birth through informed choices, evidence-based care, and through complete physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual support. I am passionate about honoring God's physiologic design for birth, informed consent, and recognizing birth as the transformative event it was created to be.

Testimonials...

"This was my first pregnancy and I was very scared of going into labor. Mary completely squashed that fear and made me feel strong, confident, and ready! With her help, I was able to almost completely stay with my birth plan. I would recommend Mary to anyone and everyone looking for a doula!"
Caitlin, Mom to 1

"I feel very blessed to have had Mary at my last two births. I felt very supported and empowered. She was just the right kind of support when I needed it and suggested just the right things that made sense. My husband also appreciated her presence because it didn't all fall on him and he could be more present to me as a husband."
Shannon, Mom to 5

"Mary attended the births of both my third and fourth children. She was gentle and comforting, yet assertive to make sure my requests for the care of myself and my babies were being met. Her love and passion for the spiritual, physical, and emotional wellbeing of her clients was apparent at my prenatal visits, birth, and our postpartum wrap up. I would highly recommend Mary to anyone who wants to experience a truly holistic approach to childbirth!"
Amy, Mom to 4

"After a rather traumatizing first birth experience, having Mary's compassionate and reassuring presence made a tremendous difference our second time around. I was particularly glad for the way she advocated for me in the hospital & attended to my needs in thoughtful, intuitive ways during labor. She is discreet and her presence only added to the shared experience with my husband."
Jennifer, Mom to 2

"Mary was an amazing doula for me for the birth of my second baby at home. Her calm, in-control nature was exactly what I needed. She supported me so well, she stayed the whole time for my long birth...Mary was such a solid support to us. She was a gem!"
Ilana, Mom to 2
